introduction to epigenetics and epigenomics
integrative epigenomic analysis
The goal of this workshop is to bring together researchers and clinicians with a wide range of expertise but sharing a common interest: gaining improved understanding about cancer, to present their insights about cancer. Specifically we are interested in gaining new and systems-level understanding about cancer formation, progression, and diagnosis through exchange of ideas and experiences by the invited speakers and the attendees of the workshop.
For this workshop, we have invited 21 invited speakers, with 10 from China and 11 from overseas, consisting of cancer biologists, cancer clinicians, cancer omic data analysts and computational modelers. We aim for integration of different perspectives about cancer, which could lead to new ways of thinking about identification of the key drivers of cancer as well as about identification of effective markers for cancer diagnosis. In addition to the 21 invited talks, the workshop welcomes posters from the workshop attendees to share their insights and experiences about cancer research.
Welcome to IBW2012, which will be organized by Jilin University, in Changchun, China, from July 7 to 8, 2012. This workshop will cover the top subjects on computational genomics, computational proteomics, computational systems biology and biological data mining. The annual International Bioinformatics Workshop(IBW) continues the series of nine previous workshops, which took place at Fudan University, Shanghai (2003), Tsinghua University, Beijing(2004), Jilin University, Changchun(2005), Central South University, Changsha(2006),Shandong University, Shandong (2007) , Yunnan University, Kunming(2008), Soochow University, Suzhou(2009), Wuhan University, Wuhan(2010) and the Fourth Military Medical University, Xi'an(2011). The workshop aims at scientific communication for researchers at the cutting edge of progress in bioinformatics and related research fields. The first two days of the workshop will involve invited presentations, given by leading professionals from China, USA, Canada and other countries, and report the latest research findings in bioinformatics and computational biology.
Like the previous meeting, this year's IBW meeting will have a 5-day "tutorial" from June 30 to July 4, named the dragon-star teaching project completely supported by NSFC of China ( http://dragonstar.ict.ac.cn ), and taught by Prof. Ting Wang. This will be a great opportunity for students and junior teacher to attend.
Look forward to seeing you in Changchun, 2012.
